Ronnie Baker Brooks is the son of the great bluesman Lonnie Brooks, star of the record label Alligator Records. He was first seen on stage at the age of nine, playing with Lonnie at the "Pepper's Lounge in Chicago." My father told me that if I learned the song "Messin with Kid" and "Reconsider Baby" he would have allowed me to play with him on my birthday". Ronnie succeeded and his show captured the public a lot. He joined his father’s band in 1986 and became a guitarist, singer and composer. Ronnie played for the first time in 1992 at the Festival of New Orleans, replacing the sick father. The next night he performed in Memphis, while Albert King, his idol, was watching behind the scenes. "The pressure was at maximum: I was worried about my father and I knew I had to give the best, but as Albert King showed me his support, I knew I was onto something."
Ronnie has performed on stage with many giants of the blues: Albert Collins, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Luther Allison and Buddy Guy. He has worked with many artists: Junior Wells, Eric Johnson, Johnny Lang, Slash, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Keb Mo.
Ronnie is the new star of the "Blues Power", as he likes to define his music which was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, but especially by his father, who he considers his mentor!
